2017 Columbus Barista Championships Of The Year
The 2017 Columbus Coffee Barista Champs were held at Cerebos Greggs Ltd in their competing arena in Newmarket with co-founder of Columbus Coffee and Roast Master David Burton as Master of Ceremonies. The evening saw a fantastic effort by our baristas competing for the top spots, with superb coffee, latte art and excellent customer service skills shown.
Taking out the top title for Elite grade Barista of the Year was Pavel Zhuravlyov from Columbus at Mitre MEGA Takanini. Our runner up was Vishal Dhiman from Columbus at Mitre 10 MEGA Albany, and third place went to Rob Cruz from Columbus at Sylvia Park.
In our social championships for first time competing Baristas, the top title for Social grade Barista of the Year was awarded to Stacey Fisher from Columbus at Mitre 10 MEGA Te Awamutu. Our runner up was Millie Taylor from Columbus at Mitre 10 Mega Cambridge . With the third place spot a tie between Vikas Vikwakarma from Columbus at Mitre 10 Mega Westgate, Jade Cook from Columbus at Smales Farm and Moana Tarei from Columbus at Manukau Supa Centa.
Our latte art Champ was Vishal Dhiman from Columbus at Mitre 10 MEGA Albany.
Our People’s Choice Award went to Mahauariki Edmonds from Columbus at Mitre 10 Mega Palmerston North .
